Terri McLellan, M.Div.

Pastor Terri McLellanReverend Terri Lynn McLellan accepted her call to preach in 2003 and preached her initial sermon on July 27, 2006, at the Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Reginald A. Thomas, Sr. In 2011, Rev. Terri transitioned to serve in a church plant with the United by Faith Christian Church, The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and there she was commissioned as an Associate Pastor in 2013. In 2014, Rev. Terri was ordained and continued to serve as an Associate Pastor for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Capital Area Region. In this capacity, she developed lay leadership training, a membership assimilation program, and led the Christian Education department and Church school for the Shepherd Park Christian Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Marcus Leathers. On November 12, 2018, Rev. Terri McLellan was elected to serve as the Senior pastor of the Shepherd Park Christian Church (SPCC). She is the first woman to lead the congregation in its 120+ year history.

Rev. Terri serves on the Executive Committee for the Commission on Ministry, the Executive Council for the Minister’s Association and was elected in January 2019 to serve as the Moderator-Elect and later as Moderator in 2022 for the Capital Area Region providing leadership and oversight for 40 churches across Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and West Virginia.

McLellan’s theological training includes a certificate of Biblical Studies from Calvary Bible Institute @ Greater Mount Calvary in Washington, DC, and a Master of Divinity in Practical Theology from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA.

Rev. Terri has worked in public service with the federal government for over 30 years. She currently serves as a Senior Manager with expertise in the areas of Leadership Development and Training, Information Technology, Program Management, and Workforce Engagement and Development.

Rev. Terri and husband, DannyHer greatest accomplishment, however, has been her first ministry as wife and mother. She enjoys spending her life and ministry with her best friend and husband, Daniel and their son, Shawn.
