Terri McLellan, M.Div.
Reverend Terri Lynn McLellan accepted her call to preach in 2003 and preached her initial sermon on July 27, 2006, at the Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Reginald A. Thomas, Sr. In 2011, Terri joined the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Capital Area Region. She was ordained in 2014 and served as an Associate Pastor for three years. On November 18, 2017, Rev. Terri McLellan was elected to serve as the Senior Pastor of the Shepherd Park Christian Church (SPCC) in Washington, DC. She is the first woman to lead the congregation in its 120+ year history.
Rev. Terri has served on the Executive Council for the Commission on Ministry, secretary for the Executive Council for the Minister’s Association, and the Vice President of the governance board for the Disciples Center for Public Witness. In October 2022, she was elected to serve as the Moderator for the Capital Area Region providing leadership and oversight for forty churches across Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, Delaware, and West Virginia.
Rev. McLellan’s theological training includes a certificate of Biblical Studies from Calvary Bible Institute @ Greater Mount Calvary in Washington, DC, and a Master of Divinity in Practical Theology from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA.
Rev. Terri is bio-vocational and has worked in public service for the federal government for over 30 years. She currently serves as a director with expertise in the areas of Strategic Planning, Leadership Development and Training, Information Technology, Program Management, Workforce Engagement and Development.
Her greatest accomplishment, however, has been her first ministry as wife, mother, and now a grandmother. Ministry is sweeter each day as she continues this sacred work with her best friend and husband Daniel.
