Salt & Light, our bi-annual lay/ clergy training event on October 16, was well-received under the theme “American Conversations: Race, Immigration, and Religion”. The event was graciously hosted by National City Christian Church, with over 40 persons in attendance, both in-person and virtually. Keynotes by Mr. Jim Winkler (National Council of Churches) and Rev. Dr. Sharon Stanley-Rea (Refugee and Immigration Ministries) initiated a day of discussion, workshops, worship, and fellowship. Thanks to the efforts of the planning committee chaired by Neil Romstedt, Salt & Light was a happy reunion of Region leaders, despite the limitations of the pandemic. Planning is already underway, under the direction of Carmen Jennings Woodson, for our next “reunion”: the Regional Assembly in October of 2022!
